“Woman to Woman” provides free legal assistance, representation in court, and advocacy before public administration institutions for women who have experienced various forms of abuse and violence. Legal support covers civil, criminal, and administrative cases, as well as claims for compensation in cases of damages. Every case presented receives free legal services, including legal counseling, assistance, and representation, along with support in preparing the necessary documentation (e.g., requests for Protection Orders, Emergency Protection Orders, lawsuits, and divorce proceedings).
The Legal Clinic for Women and Girls Survivors of Violence operates within this legal service, offering free legal consultation, assistance, and protection. Legal representation is provided by lawyers and pro bono law students from the Faculty of Law in Shkodër, who are trained in the implementation and enforcement of gender-focused legislation.
These legal professionals assist survivors of domestic violence by informing them about legal procedures, procedural deadlines, and judicial processes. Additionally, law students from the Legal Clinic lead awareness-raising campaigns in rural and urban areas, engaging women, men, and youth of various age groups in legal education initiatives. They also conduct research and advocacy on critical issues such as the role of social workers and psychologists in judicial proceedings and their presence within justice institutions.
